A Word Of
ENCOURAGEMENT
Philippians 4:1-13
God gives strength for the journey that He places before His children. Now a journey is when you travel from one place to another whether it be in space or time, and what makes a journey different from just wandering about aimlessly is that a journey has three specific components, specific purpose, specific plans and specific destination. Here in Philippians chapter four Paul is on a journey for the Lord. He has a specific purpose, plan and destination to encourage God’s people to instruct God’s people and to be with God’s people. You see Paul understood God’s will for his life and obeyed God and because of this God strengthen Paul, provided for Paul and gave peace to Paul for the journey that He placed him on. My question is what journey are you on? Is it yours or is it God’s? Sometimes people can do the right things for the wrong reasons and will end up on a personal journey instead of God’s journey for their lives. Personal journeys are filled with self glorification and self motivation. In the Bible Proverbs 3:5 tell us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not unto are on understanding but in all our ways acknowledge Him and He will direct our paths. I encourage us as children of God to re-evaluate whose journey we are on. Is it our own or is it God’s? This is so important because the strength, provision and peace that we need for our journey will only come when we are doing God’s Will. Then no matter what comes on the journey we will be able to stand and say; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!!!! AMEN!!
